On the edge of the Panama Pacifico International Airport (sometimes called also Panama City / Balboa or before Howard Air Base) this DC-3 rests with slowly fading title Aereo Vias Centroamericanas S. A., even the internet does not say much about it in these colours. Probably it is not in airworthy condition, however during my visit some people were walking around. However, as at this airport one is sent away from the fence always and all the time, I could not find out any details.
Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum at Hamilton airport near Toronto operates many historic aircraft, offerring them also for pleasure flights for members. On Saturday and Sunday 16-17 September 2023 they flew besides this DC-3 also other treasures like Avro Lancaster, PBY Catalina, B-25 Mitchell and several smaller types.
Previous US Army, Basler Flight Service, Amerijet International... manufactured 1944. June 1988 sold to SAGAT Turin management agency of the Turin/Caselle airport Italy and ferried to Italy where it was repainted white/blue and transformed in a static attraction at the airport and painted as "I-LEON" of Linee Aeree Italiane.
