On Tuesday afternoon, July 9, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Egyptair landed at Vaclav Havel Airport, marking the inaugural flight of the revived Prague–Cairo route. This route was last operated by Czech Airlines over a decade ago.
Direct flights from Cairo will now operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, using the Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Several years ago, Egyptair attempted to operate Prague–Hurghada route, which ended unsuccessfully. For those flights, the airline used Airbus A220 aircraft, a type it now plans to phase out from its fleet.

Starting July 1, Qatar Airways is changing the aircraft type on its Prague–Doha route. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner has replaced the Airbus A330-300 for the afternoon flight QR292, which departs from Prague at 15:50. The morning flight QR290, departing at 10:00, will continue to be operated by the Airbus A320 without any changes.

This past weekend, Smartwings operated select flights using an Airbus A330-300. The aircraft, which seats 436 passengers, arrived empty at Prague's Václav Havel Airport on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, June 22, the plane, registered 9H-PTP, serviced charter flights to Hurghada and Djerba. On Sunday, it flew to Hurghada again and, after returning to Prague in the morning, departed for Düsseldorf at noon.
The Smartwings fleet currently consists of 53 aircraft: 3 Airbus A320s, 2 Boeing 737-700s, 36 Boeing 737-800s, 2 Boeing 737-900ERs, and 10 Boeing 737 MAX 8s. This count does not include Cessna aircraft from the sister carrier UGJet. Additionally, six Czech-registered aircraft are based in Cologne, operating on Eurowings routes throughout the summer. These are OK-TSE, OK-TSF, OK-TSO, OK-TVT, OK-TVU, and OK-TVV.

Early Monday, June 24, an Airbus A330-300 of Hainan Airlines landed at Václav Havel Airport Prague. This inaugural flight marked the return of the Beijing–Prague route, which had been suspended during the pandemic. The first flight, HU 7937, took 9 hours and 21 minutes. Upon arrival, the aircraft was greeted with a ceremonial water salute.
Direct flights to Beijing will operate three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Hainan Airlines will regularly deploy its Airbus A330-300 aircraft on this route, of which it has twenty in its fleet.

Smartwings is reducing its new Prague to Brindisi route. Starting in July, the carrier's reservation system only lists Thursday departures. Initially, the route operated twice weekly. The last Monday flight will be next week.

On Sunday, June 16, the final summer addition for Smartwings arrived in Warsaw: a Boeing 737-800 from Sunwing Airlines, registered as C-GLRN (built in 2017). The Smartwings group now boasts a fleet of 53 aircraft: 3 Airbus A320s, 2 B737-700s, 36 B737-800s, 2 B737-900ERs, and 10 Boeing 737 MAX 8s. This count excludes the Cessna aircraft operated by sister carrier UGJet.
On Thursday, June 6, the last Czech aircraft leased to Sunwing Airlines returned from Canada. This Boeing 737-800, registered as OK-TVL, arrived from Toronto via Keflavik still bearing its Canadian registration, C-GKVL.
Six Czech aircraft are based in Cologne, flying summer routes for Eurowings. These are OK-TSE, OK-TSF, OK-TSO, OK-TVT, OK-TVU, and OK-TVV aircraft.

Last year's visit by Mongolia's head of diplomacy is bearing fruit as Mongolian carrier Eznis Airways has begun selling tickets for direct flights from Prague to Ulaanbaatar. Starting soon, the airline will operate flights to Mongolia's capital every Wednesday and Saturday using an Airbus A330 with a capacity of 256 passengers.
Eznis Airways has been in the regular transport market since 2006, starting with smaller aircraft like Saab 340 (illustration photo). Its fleet includes two Boeing 737-700 aircraft, which are currently leased to Air Peace in Africa, and one Airbus A330-200, which has been parked in Rome for the past two months, after serving with Alitalia since 2009 and e.g. Etihad earlier.

easyJet is set to launch a new route between Prague and Naples on Monday, October 28, 2024. The service will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally, Saturday flights will be offered throughout November.
Currently, Ryanair and Wizz Air already provide regular flights from Prague to Naples. While Ryanair has not yet released tickets for the winter schedule, it operates flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during the summer schedule of 2024. Wizz Air will continue to fly on the same days in the winter schedule.
easyJet offers flights from Prague to 14 destinations, including Alicante, Amsterdam, Basel, Bristol, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London (both Gatwick and Luton), Lyon, Manchester, Milan (Malpensa), Porto, Geneva, and Mallorca.

New regular flights have commenced to serve Tirana in Albania and Varna in Bulgaria from Katowice, Poland. Charter flights have been the only connection to these destinations so far. The routes are served by Wizz Air and Ryanair.
Ryanair opened the Katowice–Varna route on Saturday June 1, 2024, operating three times a week (every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).
Wizz Air connected Katowice with the Albanian capital on Monday, June 3. This new connection is operated three times a week as well (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday).
In 2023, Katowice Airport recorded the best results in its history. It achieved record results in total passenger counts, both in scheduled and charter operations. Katowice handled exactly 5,609,022 passengers last year, which represents an increase of 1,189,931 (+26.9%) compared to 2022. For 2024, the airport has set a target of 6.1 million passengers.
