Idyllic morning scene on the Erebuni military airport in Yerevan. I badly wanted to catch this IL-76, but it landed the day before my arrival to Armenia. When a full day sitting next to RWY 03 theshold did not bring any success, I decided to search the terrain and found a sole block of flats right opposite the IL-76 stands. A secret mission onto its roof was successful and while the Russian soldier peacefully fed the dogs, I secretly photographed everything I wanted and quickly disappeared again...

Scan from one of my negatives taken using a Pentax ME Super fitted with a Tamron 80-210 manual focus lens. Exact date not recorded but sometime during the spring of 1985.
Ilyushin IL-62 OK-GBH of CSA is just lifting its nose wheel on rotation from 28L (as it was then) at London-Heathrow. Many people in the West incorrectly referred to the IL-62 as a 'VC10 Copy' but apart from the configuration, there is actually little commonality between the two designs.
