07.09. During the Ceremonial opening of a new runway at LKMK visitors had a rare opportunity to see a formation of AS350 OK-DSW (pilot Daniel Tuček) with two aerobatic planes, namely Sukhoi Su-31M OK-HXB (pilot Jan Rozlivka) and Extra 300SR OK-SON (pilot Martin Šonka).
The terminal of Riga Spilve airport, which was the first international airport of Latvian capital Riga (from 1920 to 1980), is currently being turned into an aviation museum. You can see there restored Soviet architecture as well as airplanes such as Bowers Bi-Baby (YL-BAB), Flying flea, two helicopters Mi-2 (YL-LHC and YL-LHH) and finally An-2 (YL-CCF).
Apollo Lunar Module of serial number LM-2 which was intended for the second unmanned mission was finally preserved and exposed at National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C.
