Czech aircraft rented to Africa

Smartwings established a new partnership with a carrier from the African country of Cameroon last year. Camair-Co is the largest carrier in the country and the planespotters.net website states that it operates a fleet of six aircraft. Last year, several routes of the Cameroonian carrier were operated by a Boeing 737-700 of the Czech Smartwings.

However, the smallest of the Boeing 737s in the Czech carrier's fleet has already been retired, so three Boeing 737-800s are flying in Cameroon this winter.

The Boeing 737-800 registered OK-TVG (production number 30719, manufactured 2007) was the first to fly to Africa in Camair-Co colors. It was active in Cameroon from October to mid-November 2025. Then it returned to Prague. Today, it flies on Smartwings routes in Czech colors again.

Another Boeing 737-800 registered OK-TVJ (serial number 29351, manufactured 2004) has been flying continuously in Cameroon since autumn 2025, also in Camair-Co colors.

In mid-November, the Boeing 737-800 registered OK-TSE (serial number 39437, manufactured 2014) departed in the opposite direction to replace OK-TVG. It was flying in Camair-Co colors in Africa until December 27, 2025. Then it was back in Prague until Saturday, January 10, 2026 and is now back in Cameroon.

On Sunday, January 4, 2026, a Boeing 737-800 registered OK-TSO (serial number 35793, manufactured 2007), which recently underwent a paint renewal after nine years, also departed for Cameroon.

All aircraft are based in Douala, Cameroon's largest city, where they fly as ACMI lease for the African carrier.
