Air Canada to Change Aircraft Type on the Toronto-Prague Route

In the spring of 2025, Air Canada launched a service between Prague and Toronto, restoring a direct air link between Prague and Canada. Flights operated every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from June through September. This year, the service has returned with an expanded schedule: operating four times a week from June 7 to October 24, with the addition of a Thursday flight compared to 2025.

Both this year and last, the route (flight AC935) has been primarily served by long-haul Airbus A330-300 aircraft. These planes feature a capacity of 297 seats across three classes, and the airline has twenty of them in its fleet. In September of last year, the route was operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, which have a smaller capacity of 255 seats across three classes. A Boeing 787-9 also appeared on the route on several occasions; this aircraft type is set to become the primary equipment for the route next year.

Air Canada operates a fleet of 32 Boeing 787-9s, each offering 298 seats across three classes. These aircraft will serve the Prague–Toronto route in 2027, with the first flight scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 2027.

Prague lacked a direct connection to Canada between 2020 and 2024. Prior to that period, Air Canada Rouge operated flights to Toronto using Boeing 767s, while Air Transat served Montreal with Airbus A330s.
