L410 News

The L-410s finished their service in Costarica. After the crash of c/n 861620 (reg. YS-09-C) in January 2000, the local Civil Aviation Authority banned the type from flying after finding irregularities in manuals and many other problems. Three UVP machines were in service with Travelair - TI-AXX, c/n 831028 is now in Venezuela with Comeravia as YV-906C; TI-AYH, c/n 851412 was sold to Haiti's Tropical Airways as HH-PRT; and the last one - TI-AWY, c/n 841313 - was scrapped locally at San Jose Tobias Bolanos. The only UVP-E (reg. TI-AVU with Aero Costa Sol) found a new operator at Guatemala and became TG-TJL. Aero Costa Sol no longer exists and Travelair (now Nature Air) changed their fleet to DHC6 Twin Otters.
