The North American P-51D Mustang "Marinell" was shipped to Britain on D-Day, June 6, 1944. "Marinell" went on to achieve four confirmed victories in combat before being downed on August 13, 1944, during a dive-bombing mission over Feuquières, France, tragically resulting in the loss of her pilot. In July 2008, "Marinell" flew again for the first time in almost 64 years. "Marinell" is now based at Duxford Airfield.
