One to Asia and two to Africa. These are the three new routes that Wizz Air will offer from the Slovak capital from the start of the winter 2026/2027 flight schedule.
The Bratislava - Baku route will operate twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday. It will fly for the first time on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
The Bratislava - Agadir route will also fly twice a week, every Tuesday and Saturday. The inaugural flight will be made on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
The Bratislava - Hurghada route will start with the same frequency as the other new routes, it will fly every Monday and Friday. It will start operating on Monday, October 26, 2026. Only on this route will the Hungarians face competition. Egyptian rival Air Cairo flies to Bratislava every Tuesday and Friday, so it will not be a direct competition.
Wizz Air plans to install direct flights from Bratislava to 25 destinations in the winter 2026/2027 flight schedule. These are: Agadir, Alicante, Athens, Baku, Barcelona (El Prat), Berlin, Chisinau, EuroAirport, Hurghada, Košice, Kutaisi, Larnaca, London (Luton), Malaga, Oslo (Gardermoen), Palermo, Pristina, Rome (Fiumicino), Tel Aviv, Tirana, Tuzla, Varna, Warsaw, and Yerevan
The Hungarian company is not expecting flights to Bucharest, Dortmund, Lamezia Terme, Mykonos, Naples, Nice, Ohrid, Plovdiv and Podgorica any more. Flights to these nine destinations will not be offered in the winter. Serbian Niš and Romanian Bucharest, which the company does not fly to even now, have also disappeared from the offer.
It is also worth comparing it with the previous winter flight schedule, when it offered 27 destinations. This is therefore a reduction in the offer.
The Hungarian carrier announced its intention to establish a base with two Airbus A320 aircraft at Bratislava Airport last summer. In the fall, it increased the intended number of aircraft to four. The winner won the tender for the operation of the domestic route Bratislava - Košice and Slovakia has become a favorite. One of the factors is the complete absence of a tax on airline tickets, which in its neighbors in Austria is about 300 CZK per passenger. Slovaks also reduced air traffic control fees by 50%.
M. R. Štefánik Airport was used by 2,438,215 passengers in 2025. The most in the airport's history.
