United Flight 422 from Houston to Seattle had a stinky reason to stop the flight after a dog took a smelly poop in the First Class cabin, causing the aircraft to divert to Dallas to allow the cleaning crew to remove the mess.

According to Reddit user gig_wizard, the plane was on the ground for 2 hours at DFW while cleaners tried desperately to remove the foul odor from the aircraft. The cleaners had to be called back to the plane after they missed several areas, which resulted in the delay lasting longer.

The drama didn't stop there. According to gig_wizard, the delay caused the flight catering to go bad, which resulted in the passengers not having their meals. The first-class toilet was also rendered unusable after the event due to the poor cleaning efforts. "The smell never quite went away. The first-class toilet was declared unusable as the dog mess was apparently unresolved in there," the Reddit user wrote.

While gig_wizard said the ground staff and cleaners in DFW left much to be desired, they commended the United crew for their efforts to control the stinky situation and look after the passengers. "Accolades to cabin crew who performed very well! The cleaning crew had to come repeat cleaning as they missed several areas. The yelling was a gate agent of some kind who came aboard and yelled at passengers to sit down who were just trying to get away from the smell of the cleaning activities," they stated in a comment.
