01.09.2010 08:00 | The end of Saab 340s on CSA flights

Czech Airlines will terminate ACMI lease of two Saab 340s from Central Connect Airlines (JOB Air) at the end of October. 33 seat aircraft operated by CSA some of Prague - Brno and Prague - Ostrava flights from October 2008, together with international service to Warsaw and Ljubljana later on.

31.08.2010 00:28 | Ryanair confirmed 14 winter routes to/from Bratislava

Ryanair launched its Bratislava schedule for the winter season 2010/11 (31.10.2010-26.03.2011). It will operate 14 routes including disputes service to/from Stockholm Skavsta and Alicante (both remaining 2x weekly). There will be increase on two routes: Brusel Charleroi (4 to 5 weekly) and Bergamo (5 to 7 weekly). Less flights affecting London Stanstedu (14 to 11 per week), Dublin (5 to 4), Edinburgh (4 to 2), Liverpool (3 to 2) and Paris Beauvais (4 to 3). Birmingham remaining on 3, Bristol on 2, London Luton on 7, Malaga on 2 and Rome Ciampino on 3, same as in summer.

Czech Airlines confirmed changes in winter operating network, abandoned London - Heathrow, Manchester, Cologne, Munich, Brno, Marseille, Thessaloniki and Venice. The airline hopes for return to last 3 mentioned in summer season 2011. There are reductions on some others routes too, Bologna, Bratislava, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Oslo, Ostrava, Stuttgart, Vilnius and Zurich included.

24.08.2010 15:29 | Lufthansa launching another daily flight between Frankfurt and Prague

Lufthansa is introducing a new rotation between Frankfurt and Prague on 31.10.2010. The sixth daily LH1404/5 flight will operate at times Frankfurt 10:40 - Prague 11:40/12:20 - Frankfurt 13:35.

23.08.2010 23:50 | No more B737-400 in CSA colours

The fourth ex CSA B737-400 for UTair Aviation landed in c/s of new Russian owner in Prague today at 20:20. There are no B737-400 in Czech Airlines colours any more. The remaining OK-FGR and OK-FGS (for UTair as well) are all white already, painted the same as OK-WGY and OK-WGX (for Holidays Czech Airlines). Fresh painted OK-EGP (to be VQ-BIE) will join trio (OK-CGT/VQ-BHZ, OK-DGM/VQ-BIG, OK-DGN/VQ-BIF) awaiting in Prague delivery to UTair Aviation.

Ryanair announced that it will open a new three-weekly (Mo, We, Sa) service from Bergamo to Brno, which will commence on 01.11.2010. The Brno traffic will raise with increase of current 4 weekly flights from London Stansted to daily at the same time.

14.08.2010 10:28 | September Prague Ruzyne 06/24 runway closure

Main runway 06/24 of Prague airport will be closed every day from 05:00 to 24:00 from 13.09. till 27.09.2010. All traffic run on backup runway Prague Řepy - Dobrovíz direction at this time. However the 06/24 remain available due to noise night restrictions as only one alternative from 24:00 to 05:00 during whole period of regular maintenance.

04.08.2010 09:54 | Slight traffic decrease at Prague Airport in first 6 months this year

The total of 5 120 592 passengers in the first half of 2010 at Prague Airport remain nearly on the same level (-0,3 %) compared with the first six months of the previous year. The positive traffic development from the first quarter was slowed down by the April flight cancellations following the eruptions of an Icelandic volcano and by weaker demand for charter flights in the summer months. Traffic results for the month of June 2010 reported 1 112 911 passengers, representing a decline of 1,6 %. While passenger numbers of the low cost airlines increased by 2,6 % year-on-year and those of the legacy carriers remained unchanged, charter flights slumped significantly by 13,2 %. With 14 824 movements, the total number of flights dropped by 3,2 % in June. The UK, Germany and Greece were the three most popular countries in terms of passenger numbers in June 2010. The most significant increase was achieved on routes to Russia (21,8 %), the Netherlands (20 %) and Denmark (16 %). Paris Charles de Gaulle was the most rapidly growing route with an increase by 34,1 %, followed by Barcelona (17,3 %) and Tel Aviv (15,7 %).

24.07.2010 09:00 | Third classic Boeing 737 join Central Charter Airlines fleet

Third Boeing 737 for Central Charter Airlines group was introduced on CCG5528 Ostrava - Mytilini flight today. The ex Bulgaria Air LZ-BOV Boeing 737-500 is registered with Central Charter Airlines' Slovak subsidiary as OM-CCB.
